CHICKEN CHEESE ROLL UPS

The easiest, no-fuss chicken rolls that are a delicious dinner or snack the entire family will enjoy.


INGREDIENTS


For the roll :

2 cups all-purpose flour or maida

1 teaspoon instant dry yeast

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 cup warm milk

1 egg , whisked

3 tablespoon unsalted butter

1 teaspoon salt


For the filling and topping

2 tablespoon oil

1 chopped onion

1 chopped carrot

2 tablespoon cream cheese, at room temperature

3 teaspoon pepper

Salt

Other seasoning such as oregano and chilli flakes

1 cup or more shredded cheese

Parsley and sesame seeds



INSTRUCTIONS


In a large bowl, using a hand or stand mixer fitted with a dough hook whisk together flour, yeast, sugar, milk, egg, butter and salt until a dough is formed. The dough should pull away from the sides of the mixing bowl.


Cover the dough in the same bowl for 60 minutes in a warm place.


While the dough is rising, in a saucepan cook the chicken filling. Sauté onions until softened, add carrot and stir briefly. Next add the cooked shredded chicken. Stir well.

Add the seasoning and next the cream cheese. Mix well. Let it cool.


Take the dough out from the bowl onto a floured counter and shape into a ball. Divide the dough into equal pieces, shape into balls.


Flatten the small dough into an oval and thin using a rolling pin. Add 1 tablespoon of the chicken filling at the edge. Add some grated cheese on top.


Wrap it up, the same way when you make egg rolls or spring rolls.



Put in a baking pan lined with parchment paper and cover for 30 minutes in a warm place.


Preheat the oven to 180°C.


Once the roll has risen well, egg wash the roll ups, sprinkle with sesame seeds and parsley. Bake for about 30 minutes. Serve hot !
