Heat the milk to make it lukewarm. Also melt butter a bit and let is cool to room temperature.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, yeast , nutmeg powder and salt.

Add warm milk, melted butter, eggs and vanilla extract and whisk to combine well using a hand mixer with dough hook until dough holds together and no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl.

Dust work floor lightly with flour then knead the dough and roll into a ball. Place the dough back in bowl and cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm temperature for 45 min or until doubled in size.

Turn dough out onto a floured surface and roll the dough out to just under 1/2” thick using a rolling pin on a floured surface. Cut circles out using a round cookie cutter. Place doughnuts on prepared baking sheet, cover with a towel and let rise in a warm oven for 20 min or until puffed.

Heat oil in a large pot set. Add 2-3 doughnuts at a time and cook for 1 minute on each side. Carefully remove with a metal spatula or metal slotted spoon and place them onto a prepared rack.

For the glaze, melt chocolate and cream in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler.

Combine until it's smooth and glossy. Once cooled, dip each doughnuts in the glaze while letting the excess drip well before you place it on the platter.
