CREAM CHEESE-FILLED BANANA BREAD

Deliciously moist banana bread that is made with a layer of gooey cream cheese in the center. A perfect to make any quick snacks or treats.



INGREDIENTS


1 egg

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup melted butter

1/4 cup sour cream

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup mashed ripe bananas

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

pinch salt


Cream Cheese Filling

1 egg

4 ounces softened cream cheese

1/4 cup granulated sugar

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour



INSTRUCTIONS


Grease a loaf tray with butter and parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.


In a mixing bowl, add the egg, sugar, butter, sour cream, vanilla, and whisk to combine.

Add the bananas next and blend using a hand or stand mixer.


Next add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and fold with spatula . Set aside.


For the cream cheese filling. in another mixing bowl, add all ingredients and beat to combine.


Pour two-thirds of the banana bread batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top lightly with a spatula and pushing it into corners and sides as necessary.


Next pour cream cheese mixture over the bread, smoothing the top lightly with a spatula and pushing it into corners and sides as necessary.



Top with remaining bread batter, smoothing the top very lightly with a spatula as to not disturb cream cheese layer and pushing batter into corners and sides as necessary.


Bake for 48 to 50 minutes until the top is golden and the center is set. Allow bread to cool in pan for about 15 minutes before turning out on a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving. Enjoy !
