These soft, fluffy and delicious bite-size homemade mini burger buns topped with sesame seed are perfect for a tea-time snack or small burgers.
INGREDIENTS
3 1/2 cups maida or all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon instant yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup lukewarm water
2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
1 egg
Some olive oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Combine all ingredients and mix it lightly with either a dough hook or by hand. Turn the wet dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
Transfer to a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, set aside until doubled in size for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Punch the dough to remove the air and divide into small rounds (size of golf balls). Roll each ball in the palm of your hand and place it on a lightly floured surface. Using a cupping motion with the palm of your hand, roll the ball on the surface gently till it tightens and until the ball is tight and firm. Ensure that there are no cracks on them.
Place balls on baking paper lined tray with plenty of room for each dough ball to expand. Cover with towel and set aside for 15 minutes until doubled in size.
Brush with egg wash, sprinkle sesame seeds and place tray in oven. Bake until buns are golden for approximately 20 minutes.
Serve warm !
